Celebrating All 50 Days of Easter!

How lucky are we as Catholics? Easter lasts a whole 50 days. That’s longer than lent! 🙂 Whoo hoo! So at our house, we really did concentrate on lent up until Easter Sunday, and we will continue to celebrate for the entire season. Here are some ideas for keeping that Easter season going 🙂

Waltzing Matilda hung 50 eggs with activities inside- one for each
day to open! We’re doing a variation of this where we hang one egg
every day of Easter. We’ll have 50 up by Pentecost!

I love this “Easter” sign from Footprints on the Fridge!
She paints each letter with a symbol. It starts with an empty
tomb and ends with Pentecost. What a great idea 🙂
Familia Catholica transformed her lenten calendar into an
Easter calendar! Her site is in Spanish, but you can
click here for an English translation.
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for my Easter link up! Come with your Easter posts and the linky will be waiting for you! 🙂

  1. awesome ideas! I will definately do the eggs. I can commit to that. I really want to do the Garden of the Good Shepard…..but, Im so afraid I wont complete it:O

  2. Can I ask a dumb question? Are Sundays counted in the 50 days of Easter? When does the Easter season end and Ordinary Time begin again?
    Thanks!

  3. I love this idea of Dawn's and as displayed by Waltzing Matilda. I'm going to try it. I've got lots of plastic easter eggs laying around. not fifty but at least thirty so we'll do some version of the 50 days of Easter. thanks for this awesome idea.
