Count Down The Easter Season- Printable Countdown Bunting

The Easter season lasts 50 days for Catholics, which is 10 more days than Lent! It’s like St. Pope John Paul II said, “We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song!”. The season of Easter includes 8 Sundays, and we love to count all the days until Pentecost so we can remember to keep celebrating through this entire 50 day joyous season! You can see all of my ideas for celebrating all 50 days of Easter here, but today, I want to share this fun printable countdown bunting with you to count down the Easter season!

I have tried several times to countdown all 50 days of Easter by hanging eggs or other various things. The truth is that 50 is a lot of anything. Well, 8 feels like a much more manageable number than 50, doesn’t is?

While there are 50 days in the Easter season, there are only 8 Sundays in the Easter season, so why not remember each one of those? It seems like the perfect way to keep the Easter season going!

8 Sundays Of Easter

Let’s take a look at a list of the Sundays in Easter:

  1. Easter Sunday
  2. Divine Mercy Sunday
  3. 3rd Sunday of Easter
  4. Good Shepherd Sunday
  5. 5th Sunday of Easter
  6. 6th Sunday of Easter
  7. Ascension Sunday (I am aware that traditionally Ascension falls on a Thursday, however, in the USA it is usually moved to this Sunday. Either way, it is the closest Sunday to the Ascension, and I like recognizing it here on the bunting.)
  8. Pentecost Sunday

Each of these Sundays is represented on the printable bunting as a cute little Easter egg!

Symbolic Printable Egg Bunting

This bunting comes packed with symbols of the true Easter season, each with an image to represent a part of Easter! I think my favorite egg is the Divine Mercy Sunday egg, which happens to be one of my favorite Sundays of Easter as well.

I also especially love the Ascension Sunday and Pentecost Sunday eggs.

How To Use This Easter Season Countdown Printable

2 eggs print on each page. I highly suggest printing these on cardstock. Cut out each egg, and hang a piece of string or ribbon across your wall or fireplace mantle. Using cute little clothespins (which you can find at the Dollar Tree) you can pin your egg bunting up on the string.

2 Options For Counting Down The Sundays Of Easter

  • Hang one egg per week, counting your way to Pentecost Sunday, OR
  • Go ahead and hang all 8 eggs. Print the Jesus on the last page of the download pack, cut him out, and pin him to the current week. This is what we did, as I wanted to go ahead and hang the whole bunting.
