Emmanuel Craft for Kids

Catholic ABC’s Week: 10
Letter of the week: E
Theme: Emmanuel
Saint of the Week: St. Elizabeth
Craft: Emmanuel Craft

E is for Emmanuel craft

This craft is so cute and children of just about any age can make it! This Baby Jesus craft would obviously also work well for a Christmas craft.

Emmanuel God With Us

Supplies Needed to Complete this Craft:

  • Popsicle Sticks (we used jumbo popsicle sticks)
  • Shredded crumpled paper (you can get this by the bag full at the Dollar Tree)
  • School Glue (not a glue stick)
  • Manila File Folder
  • White Felt (you could substitute white paper)
  • Construction paper

Before you begin, trace around a milk cap on a manila file folder and cut it out. Draw on a face for Baby Jesus. Also, cut out a rectangle of white felt for his “swaddling clothes”. If your kids are older, they will be able to cut out Baby Jesus on their own. Now you’re ready to begin. Have your kids run a line of glue down each popsicle stick and glue them in the middle of their paper in the shape of an “X”. This is the manger. Then put lots and lots of glue on top of the X and stick the crumpled paper on it. Lastly, glue on Baby Jesus’ blanket- then his head.

To make this your “E” craft for the Catholic ABC’s, Use a foam “E” sticker for “Emmanuel” and also write “God With Us”. (Emmanuel means God with us).

  1. Cute and simple, my fav! We will definitely do this for Advent. Maybe make the creche and leave it empty until Christmas…Then add Baby Jesus!

  2. We are really enjoying following along with the Catholic ABC's. Usually one of my older daughters teaches it to my 3 year old, fun for all:)

  3. This is adorable! I printed it for my Advent/Christmas file. I am thinking this would be good for my preschool class at work and for my two youngest boys. Thanks!

  4. Great for upcoming holidays, thanks!
Also, went to visit your sponsor, St. Luke's brush, and oh! so sweet!! ordered a couple of things for St. Nick's Day and plan to order more for Epiphany. No, I don't know the owner at all, but I'm always looking for original gift ideas. Once you are on your fifth kid, you kind of reach the point of having all the fisher price toys you want, you know? 🙂
