The cupcake toppers and banner set are also perfect to pair with the St. Michael and the Archangels Printable Craft Pack (shown in the next picture) as a party activity. The craft set is a separate purchase and is not included with the cupcake toppers and banner set.

How to Make Your St. Michael and the Archangels Cupcake Toppers

To make them into cupcake toppers, first you need to print them. There are 17 toppers included, which means you can have all different artworks on a dozen cupcakes. I would suggest printing them onto cardstock for extra sturdiness.

Cut the cupcake toppers out around the outside lines, and leaving a little white around some of them will make the cutting easier.

Tape a toothpick to the back of each one, and insert it into the top of your cupcakes. For some extra pizzazz, consider using devil’s food cake since St. Michael cast the devil out of heaven. You could also place your cupcakes in gold cupcake liners to match the toppers.

How to Assemble Your Feast of the Archangels Party Banner (Party Bunting)

There are actually two different banner options – one that spells out “Michaelmas” and another where the artwork for the Michaelmas banner/bunting is the same art as the cupcake toppers, making this a matching set! The second option also features the names of all three Archangels. Again, I love that the classic and timeless artwork used for this set is good for parties of all age groups.

The artwork for the banner is larger than the cupcake toppers. The beauty behind this banner is that it is eclectic with all different shapes and sizes of letters and Saint artwork, yet the unifying style and the golden color still bring them together as a beautiful set.

When I’m assembling a bunting, I usually find it easiest to cut a piece of string or yarn to the desired length and simply tape the pieces onto the string. However, when you use tape, they are where they are. If you want to be able to slide them around, you can punch two holes in each artwork and lace them onto the string rather than using tape.

Besides the Saint artwork, I have also included some words to add to your banner! If you choose, your banner will feature the names of the three Archangels. I think this is a nice option for kids who have been named after one of them!

St. Michael and the Archangels Printable Banner Set

I designed the bunting to be assembled like this:

The artwork/name banner option: They are arranged so they’ll appear kind of “drooping” but can be cut out in chunks rather than individually. Use a small section (2 artworks) on the left end, then “Michael”, then a larger section (4 artworks), then “Gabriel”, then another larger section (4 artworks), then “Raphael”, then the last small section with 2. They can be taped directly to wherever you want to hang them, or taped to a string first and then hung. As always, use little loops of tape on the back to arrange them exactly how you want after hanging.

If you’re using tape to assemble your banner, start with your middle word right in the middle of your string. Start to work your way out on each side with Saint artwork, then another word on each side, then another set of artwork on each side. This will help you keep everything centered.

If you’re punching holes and stringing it, start on one side and work your way to the other in order.

Using the Michaelmas Letters: The letters included spell the word “Michaelmas” and can be used in a variety of ways. Use small loops of tape attached to the backs to attach them to the front of a bunting you already have, creating a temporary bunting.

Alternatively, attach them to a piece of yarn or string with tape to create a bunting, or punch holes and thread the yarn through them to make a bunting. You can also print these at a smaller percentage to make cupcake toppers and spell out “Michaelmas” across the top of the cupcakes.

Really, your imagination is your only limit!
