An Excellent Saint Juan Diego Movie (Plus a Movie Collection Giveaway and Free Shipping!)

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by CCC of America, but all opinions are my own and it’s for a product that I have already told you before that I really love!

A wonderful thing that you can do during Advent is to spend time celebrating the feast days of Advent Saints.  This is a great way to keep your mind focused on Advent as a time of prayerfulness and joyful anticipation.  Two of those Advent saint days, St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe, are ones we typically celebrate together at our house, since they are just a few days apart (December 9th and 12th).

One of the ways that I’ve mentioned before that we like to observe the feast days of St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe is with the excellent Juan Diego: Messenger of Guadalupe movie from CCC of America.  This is my favorite of the CCC movies – there’s just something so adorable about this one.  You can see the trailer for the movie here.

(Keep reading to find out how you can win a copy of this, as well as get some free shipping AND 50% OFF YOUR ORDER from CCC of America!)

An excellent video about St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe

Do you see that you can also get a St. Juan Diego movie poster?  What a fun way to decorate for the celebration, and it’s available through CCC of America as a download, so you can even get it if you’re decorating last minute!  (Because, really – that’s the way it is sometimes, isn’t it?)

Here is what CCC of America wanted to share about St. Juan Diego (plus a special code for free shipping AND 50% off just for you guys and for a limited time!):

Here at CCC of America we love to get in the Holiday Spirit, starting in November. So we are always looking at how we can be more like our Saints. This Thanksgiving/ Christmas Season, we are trying to mimic St. Juan Diego, Pope John Paul II praised Juan’s virtues, “his simple faith, nourished by catechesis and open to the mysteries; his hope and trust in God and in the Virgin; his love, his moral coherence, his unselfishness and evangelical poverty.” We encourage everyone to be like St. Juan Diego!  Catholic Icing readers will get it (and other products) with Free Shipping using code FREEICING.

  16. Randy Tercero says

I would add Knight of Assisi because St Francis has become one of my favorite Saints after watching Francis and Clare (awesome movie!) and the Heroes of the Faith. I teach 3rd grade CCE and would like to have a library started.

  17. I’ve always wanted to get the St. Nicholas movie!

  18. I think the St. Patrick movie would be great as part of St. Patrick’s day celebrations!

  19. Veronica Zamarron says

I’d put the Saints boxed set on my wishlist! It would be great to have my own personal DVD library of videos to show to my CCD class, year after year. I’d invite the other classes in the building to join us, and then we could do a craft and prayer service based on these saints. The first graders I teach respond well to videos that lead to hands-on activities.

  20. Melissa Perkins says

I’d love to get Saint Francis: Knight of Assisi. My son is obessed with knights, so it’ll be really cool to show him a knight of God. We’d also love the Marian collection. My daughter loves Mary and it would be nice for my kids to learn the importance of Mary. Thank you for offering this give away. I hope we win! 🙂

  21. I would like to see the DVD about St. Nicholas!

  22. Sonja Campbell says

Thank you so much, Catholic Icing and CCC of America for this giveaway! You both are truly a blessing to my family. I originally learned about CCC via a church ministry that had them available to watch on video (kickin’ it old school 😉 for the kids. That was about 10 years ago. Since then, I have purchased 8 of their DVD’s for our 3 children. We LOVE them! If I had to pick only one of the other videos we do not have, it would be The Odyssey, which we’ve only seen once on EWTN. I really like the way they brought a classic story to life in their animation. Ben Hur and My Secret Friend are also on my list 😉
Lacy, I’ve loved your delightfully simple solutions to raising my children to, not only learn their Catholic faith, but love it deeply as well, for about 10 years as well. I am so blessed by Catholic bloggers like you who, sawa need and filled a need. Thank you for filling our need. God Bless!

  23. May Santos says

I too love these videos. I can wait to see the Saint Pope John Paul II video. I would donate the collection to our school. I have my own set that I share with the teachers

  24. I didn’t know they have free coloring pages. Awesome! And I’ve had my eye on the Nicholas DVD for a little while now!

  25. St Nicholas would be great

  26. ElizabethClare says

What a fabulous giveaway. After looking at their site, I have to say I would just love any of the movies. Currently, we have no Catholic movies in our home. We love Veggie Tales and What’s in the Bible, but it would be great to have thoroughly Catholic films to watch with the kids. Thanks for the giveaway!

  27. Nanci Keatley says

What great looking films! So nice to see stuff like this. My kids grew up with Focus on the Family films because we weren’t Catholic yet. I’d love to be able to give some of these to our Church’s new library. We have a number of families with young children who I know would like them. My favorite was the St. Francis film!

  28. I would love to add the St. Patrick video to our collection.

  29. Windham Holtsclaw says

It’s so hard to choose, but I’d pick the St. Patrick DVD!

  30. Nadine Fernandez says

Very interested in the Juan Diego film! We have an international student from China staying with us who has no exposure to Christianity, and he loved this story- I think having it in “live” format and simple English as CCC films concentrate on for children would be a perfect enrichment to add. Great idea, thanks!

  31. I want it all! Seriously, I would choose the book The Miracle of the Dancing Sun at Fatima, Messages from Mary and the DVD that corresponds. My daughter did a report on this last year and it really made an impact on her. I think she would LOVE both of these. This is a great site with lots of really nice products. Thank you!

  32. I’m interested in the new “If you love me, show me” for my older kids. I hadn’t seen that one before!

  33. I would like the John Paul II video! We actually just purchased two of the 11 disc sets from CCC. We are going to keep one for our kids and gift the others to our Godchildren.

  34. i would definitely get the book – The Miracle of the Dancing Sun at Fatima, Messages for Mary! thanks for the giveaway!

  35. My older children grew up watching these movies on VHS tapes (!) and now we’re all sad that the younger children have never seen them. I would love to get the St. Nicholas one. Along with Bernadette and Juan Diego it was always one of our favorites. I can tell you that these movies really do their job well – my kids still love the saints they learned about through CCC!

  36. Would love to get the St. Patrick and St. Nicholas Movies too! They are perfect for the ages of my children!

  37. I loved “My Secret Friend” when I was a child and would love to get that! It’s so cute!

  38. These movies look like a great way to share Saint stories with children from a young age! I would love any of them, but I also love the idea of the guardian angel video 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!

  39. Cynthia Wong says

“Francis Xavier and the Samurai’s Lost Treasure ” combines an adventure theme with the story of Francis’ missionary work in Asia. A saintly alternative to pirates and Star Wars!

  40. I would like to get the companion book for The Day the Sun Danced because it teaches the kids about the messages.

  41. Leah Williams says

I think my boys would really enjoy Columbus: The Adventures to the Edge of the World because they have been interested in Christopher Columbus this school year.

  42. I would love to get John Paul II: The Man. I know my kids will like it.

  43. St. Nicholas!

  44. The book The Day the Sun Danced would be my favorite.

  45. I torn between the St JPII documentary and the Saints Collection!!

  46. The Miracle of the Dancing Sun at Fatima would be my pick.

  47. A Guardian Angel Children’s Poster CAUGHT MY EYE, 1ST. MY ‘GA’ IS MY BFF. KIDS NEED TO KNOW, ‘Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this night be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.’

  48. We would probably enjoy the Odyssey, besides the three mentioned of course! My 8 year old has read an abridged version several times since hearing about it on “The Story of the World” CDs (which I highly recommend) and reading D’aulaires Greek Myths for school. I’ll definitely be purchasing some DVDs for my kiddos and godchildren even if we don’t win:)

  49. The saints collection looks wonderful!

  50. We would love the JPII video.

  51. We’ve seen the St. Patrick DVD and love it! We also like the Odyssey which we’ve read in school last year. Winning more would be awesome!

  52. I would like to add the St. Francis Knight of Assisi to our collection.

  53. Yes, I’d like the Marian Collection because our third daughter was born on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe! To choose something else, I know my children would all enjoy watching the story of St. Nicholas.

  54. I would love the entire Saints and Heroes Collection. We bought several of these many, many years ago in VHS for my son who is now 20 years old! It would be great to get many of them in DVD now for his younger siblings!!

  55. I’ve always loved the St. Patrick story, but really I’d love any of them to share with my own children.

  56. Cindy Coleman says

I’d have to dream big and wishlist on the Saints boxed collection. Teaching religious education to 2nd graders, for the first time this year we have the ability as catechism teachers to show videos. I have shown a few short videos and this kids love the videos. Having these saints stories, which I am introducing them to already, which be a huge blessing.

  57. Julianne H. says

I would love to have a library filled with CCC videos…any of them, really. BUT, I am particularly intrigued by Crystalstone (an orphan story, of which I can relate to as an adoptive mom of six).

Thanks for the amazing discount and free shipping. I’ve tweeted at [link archived]
