You can find out about the home altar monthly membership here if you’re not a member yet.

Shopping List

Home Altar Shopping List:

These are the things you will need to put together your home altar goodies. You will use these few items month after month on your home altar, just switching out your new printables, so they’re an investment. Almost everything on this list below can be found at the Dollar Tree, but I am including Amazon links for convenience.

The links may be affiliates, meaning that if you click through and purchase, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Craft Supplies Needed For Assembly:

Wooden craft blocks -Optional, but highly recommended! The adorable Saint blocks will be in all of the upcoming packs for the next year, so I would invest in a set of them. I think the 1 1/2 inch blocks make for the cutest result for the Saint blocks! For the liturgical season cube and mysteries of the rosary cube, you may want to go with a 2 1/2 inch cube. I recommend you get 2 of the 2 1/2 inch cubes, and this pack of smaller blocks to use for the whole year.

Monthly Liturgical Membership

Catholic Liturgical Monthly Membership

Perfect for families! Each month you gain access to printable activity pages, crafts, home altar pieces, and more.

Never has living the liturgical year been so easy and affordable!

  • Mod Podge (they have small bottles of this at the Dollar Tree)
  • Paint brush (for spreading Mod Podge- I like these foam brushes)
  •  Scissors
  • Glue stick (I highly suggest Elmer’s because they stick better than off brand.)
  • Tape
  • Paper (suggest for printing anything that goes in frames, the candle wrap, anything you’re going to decoupage, and the activity pages.)
  • Card stock (suggest for printing for paper cube building, the Saint spinner, Scripture cards, prayer triptych, perpetual calendar, stand up Saint craft, and anything being displayed on the plate stand.)

I strongly suggest adding these other things to your home altar as well:

  •  Liturgical cloths to display the current color
  •  Crucifix
  • Bible
  •    Prayer book

Some of my own personal items:

Here are some of my favorites that I use at my house as well, but these things aren’t necessary.

  • Cabinet– this is the exact surface I’m using for my home altar currently.
  • Liturgical Cloths– these fit perfectly on the cabinet I’m using and come in many colors. (the 14×36 inch)
  • Liturgical cube stand– people ask all the time where I got my liturgical cube stand… and it came with a moon shaped lamp I have! hahaha. Anywho click the link to find the same kind of stand.

I will add to this list whenever I see fit! Hope these links helped you out!

  1. Just joined the Monthly Membership and can’t wait to start on a home altar. You have in the pictures a cube for the liturgical year, where can I find the printables for this?

    • Hi Tara!

You can find that in the “Starter Pack” section of the membership. There are two versions of the liturgical cube and they are on page four and five of the document that is called “Starter Pack Version 10-21”

I hope that helps, although you might have already tracked it down now.

  2. When we started enjoying Catholic Icing, our eight kids were all little! Now their ages are 20-4 and you are blessing this busy momma again with resources to keep our domestic Church going so the littles get just as much fun, engaging activities and beautiful additions to our home altar as the bigs did years ago. Your monthly membership is perfect for us! Thank you!

  3. Do you print these at home or send them to a printing service? If you do this at home, is there a printer you recommend using? Thanks!

    • Lacy and I both use at-home color laser jet printers. If something like that is in the budget for you, I think we would both recommend something like that. I have an HP printer but it’s an old model and I’m planning to get another HP laser jet printer sometime this year. I’m not sure what brand Lacy uses.

If you want a cheaper option, you can get color ink jet printers for a very reasonable price.
