Jelly Bean Prayer Craft- An Easter Egg Cross!!!

Do you want to celebrate a Christ-centered Easter with your kids and family this year, and you’re looking for easy ideas to celebrate? Incorporating Jesus into the Easter season can be just as easy as any other kind of celebration! This is so fast and easy and a great way to center your Easter table around the true meaning of this day!!!

I give you… the Jelly bean Easter egg cross!

Supplies Needed:

  • cheap plastic Easter eggs
  • hot glue gun
  • jelly beans or your candy of choice

So you want to use only the bottoms of the cheap plastic eggs, because they’re stronger. Also, the tops are taller and you want them to be the same size, and the tops are more pointy so they won’t sit as well.  Cut them apart and arrange the bottoms in a color pattern that you like.

Use a hot glue gun to attach all the egg pieces side to side into the shape of your cross. Lydia actually did this for me 100%. It’s kinda nice to have a teenager now- haha. 😉

Put the cross where you want it and then fill it with candy. It will not be strong enough to move while actually filled, so if you need to take it somewhere, I would suggest transporting it using a cookie sheet.

That’s it! This was super super easy and totally awesome at the same time. 🙂

Orange is for the edge of night.

Black is for the sins we made,

White is for the grace He gave,

Purple is for his hour of sorrow,

Pink is for our new tomorrow.

A bag full of jelly beans, colorful and sweet,

is a prayer, is a promise, is an Easter treat!

Last year we displayed this cross with our candy empty tomb, which you can see here. 🙂
