“Play Doh” Rainbow Cookies Recipe
I love to make fun recipes around here that the kids can participate with, and these play dough cookies turned out to be super fun, and also delicious! Plus, you could make these into any shape you wanted.

Cookie Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter softened
- 6 ounces cream cheese softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- 5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Decorating Ingredients
- gel food coloring
- white sugar
Instructions
- Start by creaming the butter, sugar, and cream cheese.
- Next, add the eggs and almond extract. Stir until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients, and add to the butter mixture.
- Split the mixture into 3 parts and color them red, yellow, and blue. Then roll into 2 inch balls.
- Cover and refrigerate for 2+ hours.
- When firm, preheat your oven to 350°F and start rolling your dough into coils (aka ‘snakes’).
- Stack 3 colors together, and shape into rainbows, trimming with a butter knife where necessary.
- Sprinkle the top of each cookie with white sugar, and cook for 12-15 minutes or until cookies begin to brown on edges.
