Speaking At World Meeting Of Families

I have a VERY exciting announcement today- I am going to be presenting at the World Meeting of Families 2015 in Philadelphia!!!

For anyone who doesn’t know, the “World Meeting of Families” is very similar to “World Youth Day” but for families rather than youth… and yes, Pope Francis is planning on coming! (I’m not saying Pope Francis is planning on coming to my talk, just that he’ll be at the conference to do his important Papal Mass thing.) 😉

My talk is titled “Family Ties: How Meals, Rituals, Traditions, Worship and Prayer Create Strong, Healthy and Joy-Filled Catholic Homes” – quite a mouthful, I know! You can find me on page 13 under Breakout Session F2 here.

I went to World Youth Day Toronto, and it was one of the most impacting trips of my life.

For any of you who have attended a World Youth Day or a World Meeting Of Families, it would be great if you could leave a testimonial in the comments to help others understand what an amazing experience big conferences like this are! It’s quite an opportunity for the USA to be hosting this one, so don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance! I can’t wait to get to the World Meeting Of Families, and I look forward to seeing you there!

  1. I am so happy for you! What an exciting opportunity!

  2. How exciting! We’ve made our hotel reservations already and will be registering soon. We used to live near Philly so we are looking forward to returning.

I have never attended WYD but we sent our oldest to WYD in Sydney in 08. It really was a life-changing event for him, really helped him to see our faith spread across the world and celebrated by so many people. He hasn’t always made the right choices in life but I think that trip helped him integrate the faith in his life and caused him to take ownership of his faith.

  3. Wow, Congratulations!!! Maybe Pope Francis will attend 🙂 Would absolutely love to attend!! Catholic families absolutely need to take advantage of this opportunity be reinvigorated in their quest to be holy!

  5. Congrats, Lacy!!!!! I can see another book by you coming out soon! LOL!

Congrats! I attended WYD in Denver, CO with my church’s youth group, in 1993. It was an amazing experience and one that I carry with me through my whole life. It helped shape my decisions as a teenager, then as a young adult and now as a wife, mother, teacher, and volunteer. The impact of an event like that is just, incredible and far-reaching!

  9. Congratulations Lacy! I wont be able to attend but hope you have a dvd or cd to sell, I would be happy to purchase for our youth group and parents! Thank you for being a great example to so many moms that are just trying to keep it all together and not forgetting what comes first! Our faith!

  10. What wonderful and exciting news. Congratulations. I am preparing with a small group at my Parish to attend the World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland in 2016. I have never been and will be going as a chaperon, I am so excited to be able to experience this.

  11. I never knew such a beautiful thing existed, this sounds absolutely lovely!

  12. Very excited to hear you are speaking, I will see you there! We just paid our registration and booked our hotel. Now to search for airfares…
