Easy and Fun All Saints’ Day Costumes: “I Have A Patron” (Free Printable!)

For me, it’s always important that being Catholic and celebrating the feasts and so on with my kids is something that we GET to do. Not something we HAVE to do. And we’ve all been there- we try to talk our kids into being St. this or St. that.. and they just really really really want to be Spider Man. And sometimes, in the interest of not wanting them to hate being Catholic and feel like it’s holding them back, I give in. You can find all of my All Saints’ Day resources for kids here.

Also, you should totally check out my All Saints’ Day food labels! This is the perfect All Saints’ Day party printable as it turns everyday kid snacks into symbols of the Saints, making celebrating a breeze for mom!

Now don’t get me wrong- there are things we CAN’T compromise on as Catholics. But given that there are no ethical dilemmas in dressing as Spider Man… well, I won’t stand in your way.

For years we went trick-or-treating dressed as Saints, and it was awesome. But if your kid is just really sad that he can’t wear the costume he wants… isn’t that defeating the purpose a bit? I wish I would have had another option then!

Today I would like to present with with secret option number 3… “My Patron Is…” printable Saint ribbons!

These are printable badges that proclaim who your patron Saint is. So for instance, you print one that says “My Patron Saint is St. Michael”and now, here are the costumes that are open to you:

I made these in a variety of options, and the free download has them all. 🙂

Some of them are blank, and you can draw or write your patron Saint name in the circle. Some of them are fully colored (in many different color schemes for both boys and girls) and already say “I have a patron” and you just write the Saint’s name on the ribbon with a black marker. DONE! 😀

  1. Genius!!!
    I love this!
    Patron Saint of Ninjas???

    • Well… both St. George and St. Michael are considered th patron saints of warriors, so seems like a fit to me 🙂

    • Blessed Takayama Ukon was a real life samurai!! My son chose him as his Confirmation saint this year.

  2. Lacy = genius
Thank you! This is such a great idea and yes – really makes us have the ability to expand costume options yet still tie in with saints. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  3. Brilliant! This idea is going to make everyone in my house happy. Thank you so much. Who would you choose for Spiderman?

    • Lol!!! I don’t think superheroes have a patron saint because they’re not real. That would be like saying that St. Francis is the patron saint of unicorns because he’s the patron of animals. But if you wanted to stretch it in that direction, I would say St. Michael because he is the patron of first responders. 🙂

  4. Absolutely love this idea! Thank you!
