Group Costumes Ideas for All Saints’ Day- Saints Who Go Together

I think it’s so cute when siblings (or friends) dress up as Saints who go together in groups or pairs! It’s adorable, right? I know I’ve dressed my kids up as saints who go together, and I’ve seen my friends do it, so I wanted to make a list to help you brainstorm some ideas. So here it is- a list of Saints who were friends, family, or otherwise “go together”. You can find all of my All Saints’ Day resources for kids here.

Saint Groups

The Holy Family! As seen above, my friend dressed her children up as Mary, St. Joseph, and Baby Jesus. You could also do just St. Joseph and Mary, or just Mary and Baby Jesus. Whatever floats your boat. 😉

The Fatima Children– Jacinta, Lucia, and Francisco are the peasant children that Our Lady of Fatima appeared to be. If you have a group of 4 kids, you could include Our Lady of Fatima in this group!

Saint costumes: Fatima.

Boy/Girl Pairs

Looking for Saints who go together where one is a boy and one is a girl? There are plenty of those too! Here are some ideas to get you started.

All Saints Day costumes: San Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe

St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe– Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared in San Juan Diego in Mexico. I have a post on making a San Juan Diego costume here.

St. Francis and St. Clare– If you have a boy and a girl, these costumes would make a cute pair. Read about the story of St. Francis and St. Clare here.

St. Patrick and St. Brigid- They were friends and are both Patrons of Ireland. Read more here.

St. Faustina and Divine Mercy Jesus– Jesus appeared to St. Faustina. I’ve had a Divine Mercy costume idea in my head with red and blue fabric flowing down, but I’ve never made it- lol. You can find our Divine Mercy tie-dyed shirts here.

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and Sacred Heart of Jesus– This would also make a cute pair. Check out our Sacred Heart t-shirts here.

Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa- because they knew each other on earth, and they’re both so super awesome. 😉

Saints Benedict and Scholastica- Actual blood twins. This would make a great brother/sister pair for costumes, even if you don’t have twins in your family.

Girl Saint Groups

All Saints' Day Costumes: Saint Cecilia and angel.

St. Bernadette and Our Lady of Lourdes– Our Lady of Lourdes appeared to St.Bernadette. This would make a cute All Saints’ Day pair.

St. Cecila and Angel– An angel appeared and crowned St. Cecilia and her husband with roses and lilies. One little girl gets an angel costume, the other gets a flower crown. Girls will love it!

St. Therese and Sisters/Family– She had lots of sisters and amazing parents. Read the story and choose your combination.

St. Agnes and Sheep- Yep, dress one girl up as St. Agnes, and your other little girl in a sheep costume. Wouldn’t that be adorable?

Saints Perpetua and Felicity– read their story here.

St. Anne and Mary- After all, St. Anne was Mary’s mother.

Boy Saint Groups

St. Ignatius and St. Francis Xavier– they were roommates.

St. George and Dragon– One little boy gets to dress up in armor, and the other one as a dragon. What’s not fun about that?!

Apostle Saints– Saints Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James, Thaddeus, and Simon… they all clearly knew each other. Dress up as any combination of these apostle Saints for a fun costume group! You could even try the 4 Gospels… Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John!

Saint Costumes: Gospels.

Archangels– Gabriel, Michael, and Raphael.

Saint Costumes: Archangels.

  1. Hi Lacy,
Love these ideas! 2 of my boys are dressing up as St. Mark and a lion(since that’s St Mark’s symbol). How cute is a toddler in a lion costume. I can’t wait!

  2. My three are going as: St Martin de Porres, St Rose of Lima and a little mouse!

  3. At our All Saint’s Day party we can do people in the bible as well. So we did shadrach meshach and abednego and an angel. Super easy costumes with old sheets made into robes and then glued felt flames on the bottoms of the three.

Our latest family saint costumes was The Children of Fatima and Our Lady – http://joyfilledfamily.blogspot.com/2009/11/children-of-fatima-and-our-lady.html

This year my two younger girls have chosen to dress up with a friend. We’ll have Martha & Mary and Ruth & Naomi. I hope to share pics.

  6. I was going to suggest using animals too but see ya’ll beat me to it. 🙂 We are doing St. Tekla and a lion, after finding a great lion costume at the thrift store. We have also do St. Germaine and a sheep, and St. Francis and a wolf. A couple of little birdies would be cute with St. Francis too. 🙂 I like the animal idea because it opens up more options for us non-sewers to take advantage of some ready-made costumes…

  7. Cynthia Chambers says

St. Benedict and his sister St. Scholatica. 🙂 What a clever idea… i will try to think of more

  8. My sister and I dressed up as Martha and Mary for Saints day last year. It s a good sister costume.

  9. Hi, I like DIY ideas for Saint costumes but I would also like a web-site where I can buy saint costumes. Do you know of any?

  10. What a great idea to dress in groups! Our saint games at church this year made me think of St. Damien of Molokai and St. Marianne Cope as a pair.

  11. I think it would be cute to do a St. John Bosco and his student, St. Dominic Savio. John Bosco was a priest and Dominic Savio was an altar server. In my opinion that would make a cute pair. : )

  12. Mary Napoli says

Here is what our boys and I went as: The Pope, his Driver/Bodyguard and I was his entourage!! 🙂

  13. My 10 yo son thought he should dress as St Michael and dress his 3 yo brother as Satan! :O Instead 3 yo is Child Jesus, 8 yo daughter is Mary and 10 yo is Joseph.

  14. One year my 9yo son was the prophet Daniel and my 2yo girl, a lion (from the lion’s den). For three years in a row now my now-5yo daughter has insisted on being Mamma Mary. We do an extra large white t-shirt for the robe, a blue pillow-case pinned on for the thing that goes over the robe, a cord around the waist, and we did a crown of 12 (paper) stars strung together around her head. This year, I didn’t make it happen, but I thought it would be fun if I dressed as St. Anne to go with her! 🙂 I guess there might be a lot of mother/child saint pairs you could do as well. 🙂 One year we actually did do my 4yo son as St. Michael and my 1yo son in a devil costume! Yeah, I guess it could be questionable, but I thought it ingenious at the time – and somehow fitting?! 😛

    • Haha! I might feel differently about a devil costume if he traveled under the supervision of St. Michael. 😉

  15. I think Sts. Constantine and Helen would be a good one or if you had a bunch of sisters Sts. Sophia, Faith Hope and Love.

  16. Here is one pair idea for an adult and toddler girl that gets a laugh every time (I’ve used this idea more than once). I wear a shower cap and a crazy long flowing dress that has big gaudy roses all over it (it was originally one of those shiny moo-moos). I dress my toddler daughter as St. Therese (any traditional, formal-looking dress works) and I sit her up on my shoulder. She is St. Therese and I am the shower of roses that she lets fall from heaven. Get it? Ha, ha! The shower of roses!! Very fun.
