Our Lady Of Lourdes Diorama {Printable Craft For Catholic Kids!}

The feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is February 11, and the feast of St. Bernadette is April 16! Celebrating these feasts with Catholic kids is super fun, and the story of St. Bernadette and Our Lady of Lourdes is certainly a favorite!

If you’d like to hear all about this craft and see how it assembles in a video, watch away!

  • Printable 3D Our Lady Of Lourdes Download
  • Cardstock or Paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Something to color with (if you choose to print in black and white)

That’s seriously it! Not glue to dry or nothin’! 😉

It prints on 3 pages, and comes in both black & white AND in color, so you can choose if you want to color it yourself or not. Each tier of the Our Lady of Lourdes diorama is on a separate layer, which makes it 3D! It’s like a pop up book! In fact, it can be glued into a card JUST like a pop up book.

Start by printing out your 3 pages, and coloring them if desired. This is going to be best printed on card stock, but regular paper will work if you don’t have any.

First, trim off the outside edges. Do NOT cut off the white flaps on the “foreground” piece. You need them. Then go ahead and fold all the rectangles right down the middle, making a nice crease, with the picture to the inside. It’s really easiest if you make this fold before cutting the centers out.

Next, cut out the center pieces as they are indicated on the download. Now you’ll have these 3 pieces to work with.

Now is the fun part! Lay your “background” piece down first. Then take your “middle-ground” and place it on top. Line up the outside edges and bottom, then use 2 small pieces of tape to fix it at the top and the bottom of the left and right side.

Do the same thing to the other side. The background will be sticking out farther than the middle-ground- that’s how it’s supposed to be.

Now take your “foreground” and fold the white side flaps back.

These 2 edges wrap around the edges of your other piece, and get fixed with tape in the back- again, just a small piece at the top and one on the bottom. Do both sides.

Post continues after this brief information about the Catholic Icing Monthly Membership

Monthly Liturgical Membership

Catholic Liturgical Monthly Membership

Perfect for families! Each month you gain access to printable activity pages, crafts, home altar pieces, and more.

Never has living the liturgical year been so easy and affordable!

Voila! It’s stands up! Instant Our Lady of Lourdes diorama!

And you can color it yourself if you like- my kids always love to color their own stuff!

Incorporating this craft into your feast day celebration with your kids can help make this day tons of fun, and with one download you can print enough for all of your kids or even a CCD or co-op class! 🙂

And whenever we are celebrating St. Bernadette or Our Lady of Lourde’s feast day, we love to watch the CCC movie, St. Bernadette, Princess of Lourdes. Love it!

And it also stores flat, which is awesome. You’re welcome, moms. 😉

These can also be taped end to end to make a circle centerpiece. I actually designed and created these back in the Fall and have failed to ever post them (another face palm) along with about a MILLION other awesome things in my computer that I just haven’t had time to post!!! lol. So more Mary dioramas are a-coming. Stay tuned as always. 😉

I clicked on the link in your email for your youtube channel and it just took me to your blog post about All Saints Day pumpkins. I couldn’t even find a link on your blog leading to youtube at all, so assuming you have one, you might want to make it more conspicuous. I did find your channel with no problem by just going to youtube and looking you up, but I know some people won’t bother taking that extra step.
Thanks so much for all you do to bring the liturgical year to life for our families!

    • I’m not sure how that happened, but somebody else let us know via email as well and I got it fixed up for Lacy. 🙂 Thanks!

  2. I would like to buy Our Lady of Gudalupe but can find a download button.

    • Hi Mary Lou –
The Our Lady of Guadalupe project isn’t listed for sale on the site yet. I’m sure that Lacy will add that sometime later this year, hopefully. 🙂

Where are the other two – Fatima and Guadalupe? I’d love to purchase them also.

  4. Melanie Pressly says

I’m looking to do all three of these as part of a Saints unit with my 1st graders. I really need the Our Lady of Guadalupe to complete the scene. The video shows it, but we can’t get it?

Hi. Are the Our Lady of Lourdes pop up crafts free for monthly subscribers or do we have to pay extra for them because they aren’t included in the packets? Are there things on you site that subscribers still have to pay extra for to download?

    • Hi Connie –

None of the products from the site are included in the membership, so this would need to be purchased separately. We make almost entirely new materials that are included in the membership each month and are exclusive to the membership. Those can all be downloaded from the membership area on Teachable when members are logged in. (Very occasionally, we have included a product or download from Catholic Icing or Real Life at Home, but it’s mostly all things that were made new exclusively for the membership.)

  6. In the YouTube Video the three dioramas are pasted into a book. Do you have a link about where to get the blank book shells? Thank you!

    • Hi Kelly –

Lacy made this one in a college class. We think you might have luck with a binder with the rings removed or by going to a thrift store and getting a larger hardcover book and cutting out and recycling the pages.

      Thanks for checking!
